Theme For Abilene

from Before The Nostalgia Rises by Jason M. Miller

about

composed by Jason M. Miller

The guitar part was written about 7 or so years ago for a film called "This Side Of Burma Shave" a road movie written in college for a film production class. The story follows two young lovers... Leo (a young criminal and ex-con) and Abilene (an aspiring singer-songwriter ) as they seek redemption on the open road while also trying to flee their pasts and seek brighter days. The screenplay was later expanded by myself and Jeremy James Douglas Norton. The screenplay and film is still an ongoing labor or love and hopefully will someday be produced. The song has gone through several incarnations over the years, but this one has felt the best... setting the gentle guitar melody with a delicate yet distant synthesizer part and electronic percussion. I hope that it evokes images of an imaginary cinema in your mind.
